Information You Provide
Search Terms
When a name, county, or other search term is entered into a search box supplied by a partner service, that request is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Putnam County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the submitted details may be kept long enough to review and respond. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement makes disclosure necessary.
Automatic Technical Data
Like most websites, this site may collect basic technical data when pages load. That data helps with security, performance, analytics, and error review.
- IP address used for the visit.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time on each page.
- Referring site, when a browser sends one.
- Date and time stamps for requests.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand traffic patterns and remember basic site behavior. A browser can block or delete cookies, but some parts of the site or partner tools may work differently after cookies are disabled.
How Data Is Used
- To keep the site available, fast, and readable.
- To route searches to the correct partner service.
- To understand which Putnam County record pages are useful.
- To detect and fix broken links, security issues, and technical errors.
- To display advertising that may reflect general visitor interests.
Outside Websites
This site links to sheriff pages, jail rosters, Missouri Department of Corrections resources, Case.net, VINELink, federal locators, statutes, and third-party search tools. Missouri Sunshine Law requests and agency record responses are governed by public-record laws such as RSMo 610.023, RSMo 610.026, and RSMo 610.100, not by this site's privacy notice. Once a visitor leaves this site, the privacy policy and data practices of that outside site apply.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and show targeted ads. Those tracking and advertising choices occur on partner systems, not as official Putnam County or Missouri government record activity.
Who May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold as a standalone list. It may be made available to limited parties that help operate, measure, advertise, or legally protect the site.
- Search partners that process submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it.
Security Limits
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information handled through the site. No internet-connected system can be promised as breach-proof, and sensitive jail, identity, medical, or financial information should not be sent through ordinary email or a general web message.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal information, a deletion request may be submitted for review.
Your Data Choices
- Request a copy of personal data held by the site.
- Ask to correct information that is inaccurate.
- Request deletion where applicable.
- Object to or opt out of certain processing when available by law or platform settings.
Notice Updates
This privacy notice may be revised from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new effective version or posting date when applicable.
